This Jin Mudan is a rare cliff tea sourced from Yan Zi Ke, a region within the core area of Wuyishan known as zhengyan. Teas from the zheng yan region contain the unique flavor that has made cliff teas highly prized. Jin Mu Dan aka Golden Peony is a relatively new tea developed in the 1970s by the Fujian Tea Research Institute by crossbreeding Tie Guan Yin and Huang Dan. It has a beautiful orange-red tea broth with tasting notes reminiscent of baked peaches.
